Trails

Trails planning and design has been a practice specialization for over 25 years.  Phil Hendricks Jr. ASLA served as both the prime consultant, leading multi-disciplinary planning and design teams and a sub-consultant providing the full range of Landscape Architecture services. Project tasks include the full range of services: analysis, visioning and programming; conceptual and schematic design; environmental assessments; public outreach; design development; construction documents, and construction administration.

Trails and recreation facility planning and design experience encompasses a full range of trails types including: Paved multi-use trails in urban, suburban and rural settings;  Trails for specialized users including - Equestrian, Mountain Bike, Nordic Skiing, Snowshoeing; Hiking trails in front country and wilderness, and; Accessible trail for a full complement of users. These trails projects are in all types of environmental and ecological settings including forest, desert, canyon land, shoreline, foothill, mountain, and wilderness, rural, suburban, and urban settings on public lands throughout much of the United States.

The complex nature of trails systems development is fully appreciated and understand. From siting and designing access points to developing a sustainable network that provides a high-quality and sustainable recreation experience.
